ESE, the most comprehensive event for the food industry in Romania, recently concluded after two intense days of presentations, debates, and seminars on the labeling of food products and dietary supplements.
The 8th edition of the informative seminar “Labeling. Safety. Ethics.” held on February 7-8, 2024, provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the latest developments in the field of labels and packaging.
Day 1: Dietary Supplements and HoReCa
The first day of the ESE 2024 informative seminar started with a presentation on dietary supplements. We presented a video on the types of labels and solutions specifically designed for this product category.
We observed a growing trend in the field of dietary supplements towards creating complex labels with premium finishing elements such as soft-touch, hot foil stamping, scratch-off ink, unique codes and QR, volumetric varnish on metallized effect materials, all integrated on a single label.
The novelty dedicated to this field consists of shrink sleeves made using mosaic technique in digital printing, offering a unique way to customize packaging. These represent the ideal solution for:
- creative packaging strategy
- products in both small and large print runs, each with unique packaging
- seasonal marketing campaigns
- testing new products in the market
Day 2: Solutions for the Food Industry
The second day of the seminar ESE – Labelling. Safety. Ethics., included a presentation by Ovidiu Florean, Sales Director at Rottaprint. The presentation entitled “Applications for labels and printed foils specific to the food industry” addressed specific solutions and examples for labels and printed foils dedicated to the dairy, meat and meat products, bakery, confectionery and soft drinks industries.
During the presentation, our colleague Ovidiu highlighted various types of labels, including refrigeration and pasteurisation resistant labels, self-adhesive C-wrap labels, self-adhesive anti-theft labels, back-printable labels, non-adhesive labels, single-material labels (to facilitate recycling), as well as shrink-sleeve labels, thermochromic labels and wine labels.
Other products for packaging were also presented, such as printed foils for trays, butter paper, twist-off foil and ice cream paper cones.
